My experience with dust collecting is having a "cyclone" (either shop made or purchased) just before the dust collector makes the collector more effective, easier to clean and needs to emptied much less often.

 John, With 3HP, you have the power, that's for sure. I would like to find some system that is fairly easy to clean and maintain.

I have a 3HP Laguna collector and am still not doing well with my table saw, so anxious to see other comments.
