Toys of the
Month
for
 June, 2022:

The June Toy of the Month is another rerun from previous years.  The Mouse is a simple to make toy on wheels.  Made from a 2x4, two 1-1/4" wheels and two 1-1/2" wheels, and a piece of twine for a tail.

The Alternate Toy of the Month is the The Car, but the plans include designs for three different body styles.  Each design requires four 1-1/4" wheels and axles. The three design styles can be downloaded using the link to the right.

The kit for The Mouse with all the parts, the template and instructions  can be picked up at the Carpenter's Hall on meeting night or by contacting Mike Robards for more information at 317-416-9755.

Make 13 of these toys, keep one of each for yourself (or a grandchild!) and box up the other 12 for delivery. (Mark the box with the The Mouse with 'Category 2' and the box with the The Car with 'Category 4' clearly labeled on the box.)

Toys of the
Month
for
 May, 2022:

The May Toy of the Month is another blast from the past, and a popular choice for members to make, the Rat Rod.  The Rat Rod is modeled from the hot rod of yesteryear.  It features two exhaust stacks and wide treaded wheels to give it the true feel of a hot rod car.

The Alternate Toy of the Month is the Wright Pencil Box, designed and submitted by CIWW member John Wright. No parts are needed for this simple but effective pencil box.

The kit for the Rat Rod with all the parts, the template and instructions  can be picked up at the Carpenter's Hall on meeting night or by contacting Mike Robards for more information at 317-416-9755.

Plans for Toys of the Month for 2021

A few words from our President:

Allow me to welcome you to our website!  We hope you are able to find out about our Club and see opportunities that appeal to you personally.  Our primary purpose, beyond working wood, is to MAKE A DIFFERENCE in our community.  As you browse our website, I feel confident you'll get a better feel for all we're doing to this end.

Of course, the most recent issue we face is the need to adapt to the health crisis that everyone is facing now.  We're grateful for the patience of our members and visitors during this time when all of our routines have been turned upside down.  Unfortunately, uncertainty seems to be the 'new normal' we will all be facing in the coming weeks and months.

The Board is discussing how we can weather these changes and keep our members engaged.  We'll do our best to listen to you as we reconsider our current events schedule and the impact on long term plans as well. We hope to send out emails as decisions are made.  And we will use this website more to help keep you informed in the future.  If you'd like to be in the loop, become a member and we'll include you in all of those mailings.

Speaking of the website, you will notice that we are going to be working over the next couple weeks to give it a new, updated look and hopefully make it easier to navigate.  Thanks for your patience during this process.

Please feel free to reach out to myself or any of the Board members if we can help any of our members during this time...we all love to work wood, but we're also about MAKING A DIFFERENCE wherever we can!
