Toys of the
Month
for
 August, 2022:

The August Toy of the Month is the second portion of Bill Dye's winning effort in the Toy Design Contest, The Excavator It uses 1½" wheels on a base shape that allows you to use up smaller pieces of scrap wood.  A limited amount of cove molding will be available at the meeting for excavator builders.  As always, please make 13 and bring 12 to a monthly meeting.  Box and label it Category 5 for construction vehicles.

The Alternate Toy of the Month for August is a repeat from earlier this year, the Baby Doll Bed It was a popular item for girls at last year's Pick & Pack.  The current count of Baby Beds is low, so let's get out and make some more. Plans can be found on the names linked below and will be available at the meeting. Box and label the Baby Doll Bed for Category 6.

The Excavator kit, including wheels and axels, will be available from Mike Robards at the July meeting in the Carpenters Union 301 Hall.  Contact Mike  for more information at 317-416-9755.

A few words from our President:

Allow me to welcome you to our website!  We hope you are able to find out about our Club and see opportunities that appeal to you personally.  Our primary purpose, beyond working wood, is to MAKE A DIFFERENCE in our community.  As you browse our website, I feel confident you'll get a better feel for all we're doing to this end.

Of course, the most recent issue we face is the need to adapt to the health crisis that everyone is facing now.  We're grateful for the patience of our members and visitors during this time when all of our routines have been turned upside down.  Unfortunately, uncertainty seems to be the 'new normal' we will all be facing in the coming weeks and months.

The Board is discussing how we can weather these changes and keep our members engaged.  We'll do our best to listen to you as we reconsider our current events schedule and the impact on long term plans as well. We hope to send out emails as decisions are made.  And we will use this website more to help keep you informed in the future.  If you'd like to be in the loop, become a member and we'll include you in all of those mailings.

Speaking of the website, you will notice that we are going to be working over the next couple weeks to give it a new, updated look and hopefully make it easier to navigate.  Thanks for your patience during this process.

Please feel free to reach out to myself or any of the Board members if we can help any of our members during this time...we all love to work wood, but we're also about MAKING A DIFFERENCE wherever we can!
