Jim Chrena will demonstrate all aspects of picture framing. These include making the frame, matte colors, mounting your photo or other artwork, cutting the matte, cutting a clear acrylic piece for the front, using a point gun to mount the artwork in the frame, adding a dust cover and hanging hardware to the back. He will also cover alternate mounting techniques when you don’t have access to a dry-mount press.
Expanding on the frame-making segment above, Jim will discuss measuring and simple calculations for a perfect fit. He will also explore options for cutting accurate 45-degree corners using the Lion miter trimmer.
Schedule and procedures: This workshop is limited to 12 participants. It will meet on Saturday, September 20th, at the McNeely Memorial Shop from 1:00 to 3:00 PM (10765 W. 121st St., Fishers, IN). Safety certification is not required.
