Roy Hall helps solve finishing problems like blotching in a follow up workshop to Rollie Johnson’s September meeting presentation. This is scheduled for Tuesday, October 28that the McNeely Memorial Shop.

If you are having difficulties achieving the finishing results you would like, this workshop will help. Roy Hall will lead participants through the following topics:

                - Minimizing blotching (stain controllers, use of gel stains, etc.)

                - Putting color in the topcoat (toning) to minimize blotching or as an addition to stain to unify or change the color tone

                - Staining wood that varies in color or has undesirable color—how to make it appear more uniform by bleaching and using complementary colors

                - Using glazes to enhance and unify color

                - Effects of sanding to different grits on stain color

                - Application methods and tools

This workshop is open to members from all skill and experience levels. It serves as a refresher for experienced finishers, and an idea source for those with less experience.
